Leaders

In 2005 Nigel and Cally Lloyd moved to Wrexham with a passion to establish a vibrant and effective church in and to go on to plant other churches in mid and North Wales. Today Nigel is the lead elder of Gateway Church Wrexham and leads the Newfrontiers Borderlands region of churches. In May 2011, Steve Hawkins and Phil Harman were also appointed as elders of Gateway Church.

Nigel and Cally have two daughters, Rachael and Amy. Nigel, who is originally from Wolverhampton, trained as a mechanical engineer. Cally, also from Wolverhampton, trained as a nurse - but in more recent years has worked with children with special needs. Nigel's work eventually took them to live in East Sussex. There, after a period of time at Barcombe Baptist Church they were involved in planting Kings Church Lewes; Nigel joined the full time staff at Kings Church in 1990, moving north to Rugeley in 1996 to lead Rugeley Community Church.

Nigel is a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan and believes (sadly) that they will return to the big time soon and challenge the likes of those minor league teams in Manchester, Liverpool and London!

Steve is married to Belinda and they have two grown up children, Matthew and Lizzie. Steve, who is originally from Preston, graduated with a degree in Transport Management and Planning and Belinda, who is from Oxford trained as a radiographer. Steve has worked in Supply Chain most of his career and now works retraining economically inactive people back into work. Belinda continues to work as a Radiographer locally, and has done so throughout her career.

Stephen is not a Wolverhampton Wanderers fan.

Phil and Rachel have two adult children, Daniel and Timothy, and two teens, Andrew and Abigail. They met while studying at Aberystwyth University and have lived in Deeside ever since. Phil followed a career in IT and is now a freelance systems performance consultant. Rachel worked for a while as a care assistant before choosing to be a stay at home mum and home educator. They long to see a Newfrontiers church establised in Deeside.

Phil hadn't even heard of Wolverhampton Wanderers until he met Nigel (or so it seems).
